Eyal Sheiner, MD, PhD is a graduate of the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Be'er-Sheva, Israel. He is a professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is the director of Maternity-D Department, and Program Director of the Residency Program of the Soroka University Medical Center. Following his residency, he earned his doctorate in Epidemiology and Public Health. His PhD study and ultrasound fellowship at Rush University Medical Center (Chicago, Il) were supported by a grant from the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program of the United States. Professor Sheiner has published extensively in the area of perinatal epidemiology, and he has more than 350 publications. A number of his last publications regarding pregnancy outcome following bariatric surgery are considered novel and frequently cited. He is a member of the Editorial board of 6 scientific journals (Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics, World Journal of Radiology, BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth). He is the editor of 8 books including "Bleeding during Pregnancy", "Obesity in Pregnancy", Cesarean Section", etc. His previous book, "Perinatal Epidemiology", has received wide appraisal and is popular among experts in this field |
